Visit the oldest fruit transformation factory of the West-Indies, a local farm and a beautiful distillery set in one of the most rural towns in the middle of Martinique. This full-day tour takes you to the small town of Gros-Morne and off the beaten track to visit industrial site of Denel’s factory. You will learn how local fruits are transformed into a multitude of products, stroll through a pineapple orchard, see how honey is produced and finish with a tasting of exotic jams, juices and condiments. You can also buy the products from their shop. The second part of the tour takes you to the heart of Martinique’s countryside. We’ll drive small roads to get to a small family farm, where we’ll be welcomed by the farmers and be taken to visit the grounds. You’ll discover how local fruits and vegetables are produced and get to taste them, as well as a fresh juice. After the visit we’ll settle to have a swim and a picnic next to a river, enjoying the colourful cabin. Possible to buy some products like home- made jams and dried fruits. Feeling refreshed we’ll hop back to the van and drive to the HSE distillery dating from the 19 th century. We’ll visit the old distillery, nowadays functioning as the aging room, the beautiful botanical garden with statues from a renowned local artist – and of course you’ll have the opportunity to taste all of their dark and white rums!
