What better way to get to know a new culture than indulging on its culinary specialties? Join our 3,5 hour guided walking and tasting tour in central Fort-de-France to get to know this bustling creole capital with a French twist. We walk in a relaxed pace discovering the historical landmarks of the town and visit six food tasting locations –all of them carefully selected to give you the highlights of what the cuisine in Fort-de-France has to offer. All of the places visited are locally owned, popular spots. You’ll get to taste salty and sweet treats including traditional sweets and pastry, the island’s national rum cocktail and classical and French-fusion dishes. The tastings are enough for a filling lunch so you may want to keep breakfast light! We will also discover many cultural sites and architectural gems such as the Schoelcher library and the old courthouse. Our food tour accommodates up to 10 persons so that you are sure to get a personal, comfortable experience. You will walk away with the best advice of what to eat, see, and do throughout the course of your stay and learn a ton about Martinique’s history and culture!
Departure and return
Meeting Point: Downtown Fort-de-France, exact location provided upon booking. Your guide can also meet you at the cruise ship terminal.
When: from Tuesday to Friday starting at 11.30 AM. We tour rain or shine so dress accordingly (ponchos can be provided). We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and light clothing.
